Vessel automation
Integrated alarm, monitoring and control for the whole vessel — one system for watching and running the machinery on board. In service for over a decade, and improved with every delivery.
What it does
One system for watching and running the vessel.
The system covers the machinery that keeps the vessel working: main engines and generators, switchboards and the shore connection, thrusters and steering, tank gauging, ventilation, bilge and fire detection. All of it is monitored and controlled from the same system.
Both monitoring and control happen on touchscreen panels. They go wherever the work happens: the bridge, the engine control room, any other space on board, and out on deck. You choose the screen size for each position, so a large main workstation and a small local touchscreen can sit on the same system, and one person can run the vessel from any of them.

The platform
What the platform gives you.
It can be integrated on board any vessel, newly built or already in service, so a single boat or a whole fleet can be brought onto the platform.
A gateway on board collects the data and sends it over an encrypted link. Ashore, owners, technical managers and crews sign in through a browser — from the office, from home or from a phone — and see the data that matters to their role. When an alarm is raised, a threshold is crossed or a service interval comes up, the platform tells the right people without anyone having to go and look.
- Live machinery telemetry alongside logged history, so a fault can be read against the weeks that preceded it
- Energy consumption, battery state and charging data, per vessel and per fleet
- Running hours, load history and trend alerts, so servicing is scheduled on condition rather than on the calendar

Project system engineer.
The core of the role is owning the vessel’s electrical, automation and hybrid power system as a whole: defining how the subsystems interact, how the vessel behaves in each operating mode and failure condition, and how the delivered system meets class and customer requirements.
The engineer defines the control philosophy and the interfaces between multi-vendor equipment, reviews supplier solutions critically, and takes the system through FAT, SAT and commissioning.
The qualities that matter most are systemic thinking, independence, an instinct for root causes, and a willingness to carry technical responsibility towards vendors and classification societies.
Must have
- Marine or comparable industrial electrical systems: AC/DC distribution, switchboards, selectivity, energy storage
- Hybrid and electric propulsion: inverters, battery systems, DC grid, energy management
- Solid understanding of PLC-based control and communication
- Control and alarm system philosophy: failure handling, redundancy, operating modes, interlocks
- Classification society awareness
- Technical documentation: functional descriptions, interface and alarm lists, test procedures

Nordic Marine Technologies is a team of engineers and technical specialists working on marine electrical, automation and propulsion systems — from first design through to lifecycle support.
Who we are
Where we come from.
Our monitoring and hybrid systems are in service on more than a hundred vessels, from ten metres to a hundred. Most of our engineers have a shipbuilding background, so they know what a specification will cost to install.
We work across the whole lifecycle: concept and system architecture, design, hardware supply, software, installation, commissioning and sea trials, then support, upgrades and diagnostics for as long as the vessel is in service.
What we are aiming for is straightforward — systems that make a vessel perform better and are easier to live with on board, and a partner you can keep calling for the life of the ship.

A second office opens in Tallinn.
A second office, opened to widen what we can take on and to support a wider range of projects.

NMTech has opened a second office in Tallinn, alongside the headquarters in Kuressaare. The capital puts us closer to the yards, owners and vessels we work with, and closer to the port and the airport when a project needs someone on board at short notice.
The office widens the range of projects we can take on, at home and abroad. Both offices work as one team on the same deliveries.
